Our Commitment

Nolar Bear is committed to ensuring that our iOS application and website are accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. We believe that every parent and caregiver — regardless of ability — deserves equal access to tools that help them care for their family.

We are actively working to ensure our app and website conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

What We Have Done

We have adapted this site in accordance with WCAG [2.0 / 2.1 / 2.2 - select relevant option] guidelines, and have made the site accessible to the level of [A / AA / AAA - select relevant option]. This site's contents have been adapted to work with assistive technologies, such as screen readers and keyboard use. As part of this effort, we have also [remove irrelevant information]:

Used the Accessibility Wizard to find and fix potential accessibility issues
Set the language of the site
Set the content order of the site’s pages
Defined clear heading structures on all of the site’s pages
Added alternative text to images
Implemented color combinations that meet the required color contrast
Reduced the use of motion on the site
Ensured all videos, audio, and files on the site are accessible

Known Limitations

While we strive for full accessibility, some limitations currently exist:

• Color contrast on certain elements displayed over background images has not yet been formally tested against all WCAG contrast ratio requirements. We are working to audit and address this.

• VoiceOver reading order on complex screens has not been formally verified. If you experience navigation issues, please let us know.

We are committed to addressing known limitations in future updates.

Technical Specifications

Nolar Bear is built using SwiftUI for iOS 17.0 and later. Accessibility features rely on Apple's UIKit and SwiftUI accessibility APIs, which implement WCAG 2.1 guidelines through the iOS platform.

How We Assess Accessibility

Our accessibility improvements were developed through:

• Self-evaluation of our codebase against WCAG 2.1 AA success criteria;

• Use of Apple's Accessibility Inspector tool for automated checks;

• Manual review of VoiceOver labels and interaction patterns.

We plan to conduct additional testing with assistive technology users as the app grows.
